疑問文の語尾は上げる⤴タイプと下げる⤵タイプがある

英語の疑問文『～？』は、

語尾が上がるタイプ(⤴)と下がるタイプ(⤵)の

2種類あります。

その違いはとてもシンプルです。

①Yes/No questionは語尾が上がる（⤴）

②それ以外は語尾が下がる（⤵）

例を見てみましょう。

①Yes/No question

『Do you like Sushi?』（⤴）・・・『No, I don't.』

『Do you want to eat this pie?』（⤴）・・・『Yes, I do.』

『Are you going to work today?』（⤴）・・・『No, I am not.』

『Did you have a good day today?』（⤴）・・・『Yes, I did.』

『Can I borrow your pen?』（⤴）・・・『Yes, sure.』

②それ以外

『How are you?』（⤵）

『What is your name?』（⤵）

『Where are you from?』（⤵）

『What time is the meeting?』（⤵）

『How much is this product?』（⤵）

質問文は語尾を上げるような気がしてしまいますが、

語尾を下げて話すパターンもある事を覚えておきましょう！
